He's as high profile as you can get - that's a target in itself. And he wants to rape babies. Put that against how long he'll be in and you may get this.Out of interest, why are people so convinced he'll not make it out of prison alive? Plenty of other high profile/worst case paedophiles, such as Huntley, are still knocking on after a significant stretch.
Of those who are predicting a shortened life, will it be by his own hand or that of others?
Oh, and fucking rot, Watkins. Bet you're not feeling quite so tip top now are you, big man?
There's a case for lying to them here, no? Very difficult situation, I can see a case for telling them their mothers are dead.Good. They all deserve it.
And more importantly I hope the children involved have happy childhoods and get the care and support they will need when they're older and learn about what happened to them as infants.
That would probably make it even worse, yes. But finding out that your parents did this could be devastating.why?
what happens when they find out and also find out you lied, won't that make it worse?
Yep. Certainly no contact before age 18 though would be a good thing.

Most children who have been put up for forced adoption have been either abused or at risk of abuse. That would probably make it even worse, yes. But finding out that your parents did this could be devastating.
Yes, fair enough. Keeping information to a minimum, though, until such a time as they ask for more. I would imagine the mothers won't be allowed any kind of contact.if you lied, the psychological impact would be much worse, they'd think they wouldn't be able to trust ANYONE
I'm not going to read it, but I feel incredibly sorry for the police, court and social work professionals who have had to be exposed to this stuffThe sentencing remarks are now out. They're horrific. Take that as a warning. They are horrific. Really. I'm not messing about.

edit: in fact i don't know if i should even post this.
What's the 10%? Reduction in sentence for pleading guilty? He got his 10% reduction btw,
Yep. And he was just on the edge of “denunciatory” indeterminate sentence. If he'd done it at first opp he'd have 1/3 off. So maybe out in 15.What's the 10%? Reduction in sentence for pleading guilty?

No, it hasn't happened. If he had pleaded guilty at first opp (as one co-defendant did) he would have 1/3 off. He and the other one didn't so they get 10% off. It's arguable they should have none as the jury was sworn in.that wont happen surely??
Thank god the jury didn't have to be subkected to watching the evidence. The sentencing remarks are now out. They're horrific. Take that as a warning. They are horrific. Really. I'm not messing about.

as others have pointed out, it wouldnt work. Even the judge has just said 'Despite him being placed in long term foster care...heThere's a case for lying to them here, no? Very difficult situation, I can see a case for telling them their mothers are dead.
They're quite young too, aren't they? So they could potentially have more children (though surely they'd be removed at birth)The mothers will be out in 7 and 8 and half years if they keep their heads down.
They will never be allowed to have children though, which is some (small) comfortThe mothers will be out in 7 and 8 and half years if they keep their heads down.
