Any one done this?

Im doing it tomorrow and am struggling to find a route that doesnt involve  roads.

Any help would be much appreciated

Go to www.tfl.gov.uk

In the Journey Planner,

Enter the postcode you're leaving from, and a location it knows in St Albans, like "St Albans rail station" (it seems not to know AL postcodes)

Observe that from Brixton station it's 53 minutes on the train

Click "Edit search options"

Click the box by the bike

Search again

View the map by the bike

Observe that it estimates 2h40

Go to Brixton station :D

Cheers - had a look at that, I think we will need some kind of map as tfl appears to be telling me to go on the M25!

As internet based advice go's, that doesnt seem to be either sensible or within the law.

Just asked our lass if we can get the train but apparently, this would mean our venture would no longer be a "bike ride".

Not from Brixton, it doesn't: zooming out -

From Bow it sends you along the B556, parallel to the M25, for a bit:

Im leaving from the womans house (Finsbury Park) and you are quite right, a bit of zooming in was required.

I imagine getting up past Alexandra Palace / Muswell Hill will be the worst bit, at least I hope it is :)

If you could hardly walk after going from Oval to Greenwich the other week, may I suggest that this new excursion might be a bit on the lengthy side? :D

I have to say I think your crazy! I wouldnt even ride from watford to st albans! let alone from lambeth!
Good luck anyway!

Im hoping the fact the bike I was on was a bit too small contributed to my subsequent frailty.

If it was purely my lack of physical prowess, you are correct, it is a bit on the lengthy side. No backing out now though. I think Im pretty much fucked. :)

The Michelin website will do it too, although you have to go to options to stipulate you're going by bike.

Agreed

Too much drink combined with being a bit on the back foot with our lass have combined to create a far from ideal Sunday.

Its only 35 miles though :eek::eek:

Oh my god your mental!

Good luck.

Let me know what hospital you arrive at and ill send you some flowers ;)
