Loafers

I've just had to endure an hour long presentation on global real estate finance. While semi-drifting off my eyes dropped and I could see a lot of ankle. And loafers. I've only recently returned to working in an office after the pandemic.

How fucking long has this been going on. Rolled up chinos, revealing waxed ankles and then... these.... no, just, fucking. no. Does anyone here condone this? I might actually get some.

What, on men? Sockless? Waxed ankles? No laces? Jesus. End times.

You need the pose though as well. Pretty much feet up on the table. Before asking a question about privately funded property, just to make certain people hate you even more as they're gagging for the pub.

I'm down with waxing the ankles though, some impressive ankles were on display. Gonna try this I think. I have good ankles.

I know of a female that took a day off from work about two weeks ago just to source a pair of loafers. I gather they are back on trend.

I might have to put this thread on ignore as loafers make me feel physically sick.

Their one redeeming feature is that they act as a very effective contraceptive. As a teen, I had a very nice young man ask me out and was girlishly excited for our date. He turned up wearing Cornish pasty loafers (the ones with the revolting crimp around the edges). Instant passion killer.

O Christ...mentioning brogues and loafers in the same sentence! Please no. Have worn Brogues and Oxfords my entire life but would hobble on bloody stumps before loafers ever graced my feet.
Only espadrilles, Crocs and Flip-flops are worse crimes against footwear.
Sliders?

Used to work for 'celeb,' self-obsessive, shoe designer Patrick Cox back in the late '90s.
So used to get all loads of Wannabe loafers together with all manner of weird and wonderful footwear for free each season.

Nicely made in Italy and very comfortable. :)
They were great! I have one pair loafers, I waited an age for Dr Martens to make this style and colour in their factory in England. They finally did so in 2022. This has been my favourite shoe style for oooh nearly 40 years. And no I am not a skinhead.
