I am currently listening to 'Please Settle in Vietnam' and 'Jail House Blues'. They rule.

Please reccomend me some more blues tracks in a similar vein (it's the stripped-down sound I like, IYSWIM).

Thankyouplease. :)

John Lee Hooker without a backing band is similar in style and of course Robert Johnson.

There are a number of great Lightnin' Hopkins video's on You Tube. For example:

Other blues gems fhat should satisfy.

I 2nd the Robert Johnson recommendation. No video of him but here are some tracks. His compositions are superb, just listen to his bass line, thats as good as the blues gets... thats only one guitar your hearing.

I'd agree with this.

And also, what Magic Sam said.

Don't know where this was, the same venue. See some of the 'lightnin'' picking which is worth seeing. 'Cold ground was my bed last night and rock was my pillow too' is a lyric picked up by Bob Marley in Talkin' Blues.
