Libya - civil unrest & now NATO involvement

What makes you think they are going to get a say in it. A western puppet regime is about to be installed and it will bloody well do as its told

Did you have the same sentiments when the Eastern bloc collapsed? Are the ex-communist countries all ruled by western puppet regimes? Why won't the Libyans be able to sort out their own country after their dictator is overthrown.

Because Libyans didn't overthrow their leader. NATO did. The rebels were window dressing

I feel quite optimistic for the Libyans , they don't have an Iran ,Turkey or Pakistan sitting on their doorsteps ... going to get a good income from the oil (Italy) and gas , the Americans are distanced ...got more of a chance than Egypt methinks

the phrase 'ceausescu moment' ime refers to the moment when someone loses control, like when the crowd booed him and he couldn't muster a response.

It's when they get taken out by their own soldiers and get machine-gunned that I think about. And they can't understand why their own people would do this to them.

No, you are quite correct. It was the "coalition of the willing" which amounted to the same thing
you thick fuck.

there are clear rules governing the north atlantic treaty organisation, and deployments under its aegis must be passed at some nato council.

no such deployment was agreed.

france and germany are core nato members. both opposed the invasion of iraq and did not send troops. neither did belgium.

the invasion of iraq, unlike the invasion of afghanistan, had nothing to do with nato.

you thick fuck.

Who the fuck do you think you are talking to you obnoxious fucking troll.

right, there is no ignore button on here but take this on notice. I will not read or respond to another post by you you fucking cunt. consider yourself on ignore.

you.

you're equating 'the coalition of the willing' and nato, when there are clear differences - among them australia not being a member of nato. as i've said, both germany and france are core members of nato, but both of them opposed the invasion of iraq and did not send troops.

interesting that sky news have a reporter out on the streets sitting on the back of a pick up truck while the bbc man is reporting from his hotel room.

as for butchers questions about people self organising the woman on sky reporting live from the streets said that locals had erected barricades at the entrances to their residential areas
