Least worthy Michelin starred restaurant

belboid

Exasperated, not angry.
Clearly, no one will object to the inclusion of The Fat Duck, or Alain Ducasse at The Dorchester, thoroughly worthy restaurateurs in anyone's book.

But is Nathan Outlaw really worth two stars? Let's be honest, he's only in because of his name, and who actually goes to Cornwall (other than to get Boat Happy)? Likewise the Old Vicarage in Sheffield. Sheffield? Really? I think not.

Still, worst of all must be the Hand and Flowers in Marlow - £15 for a Michelin starred meal? No, no, and thrice no!

Poor old Heston gets a lot of flak for giving all those people food poisoning. He serves a taster menu and the whole point is to try something new, and it's not every day people like us get to experience the chicken-shop salmonella so beloved of the lower orders.

I fear for the status of the stars for the KFC at Sunbury Cross, two portions of chips short on the last mega-bucket from there, surely that kind of lack of attention to detail will hurt the next time the tyre people come-a-calling.

i don't know why you seem to confine this discussion to restaurants in britain. there are some abominations abroad with michelin stars.

I notice they skimped on the lemon fresh-wipes last time I was there too. It's the details that make the restaurant.
