Lambeth awards entire Country Show drinks franchise to a single Clapham company

You'll know a few Max Romeo tunes even if you don't know you do - he did Chase The Devil (sampled by Prodigy), One Step Forward, War In A Babylon, Wet Dream etc.
As for Max Romeo, most of those tunes Ringo mentioned are on the War In A Babylon album, which is one of my favourite ever reggae albums - well worth getting.

Wet Dream was banned by the BBC for its lewd lyrics ("lie down gal let me push it up, push it up, lie down" !) Max Romeo tried to claim 'Wet Dream' was about having a leak in his roof and getting wet in the night, but the lyrics rather gave it away - "give the fanny to me" :D

Still slightly off topic but is there REALLY no line up available yet? I have a friend coming from overseas and she'll crap herself if I have someone like Horace Andy or Johnny Clark playing in my local park.

All I've heard is Cornell Campbell, and even that is just "heard", not "confirmed".

Max Romeo and Cornell Campbell representing the veteran reggae artist contingent - both still in fine voice and capable of a very good show. You'll know a few Max Romeo tunes even if you don't know you do - he did Chase The Devil (sampled by Prodigy), One Step Forward, War In A Babylon, Wet Dream etc. Campbell has one of the finest voices in reggae. Like Toots, he still has a penchant for 80's reggae style leather trousers, jacket and cap :)

Manasseh sound system - hmm, whats this then? Probably the best reggae selector in the country, but he doesn't have a sound system. Not sure if he's borrowing one or just playing on the stage system again, in which case sound system is a bit misleading.

Never seen Natty but he might be good live, London based singer with some interesting lyrics. Not sure what the 'twist' is tbh:

OOoof, I missed Cornel Campbell. Shaping up to be an excellent fair.

First albums I ever bought were Max Romeo 'I love my music' along with Rita Marley 'Who feels it knows it' and Burning Spear 'Farover'.

that is not what 'begs the question' means.

carry on.

This is a common error I know, but I've never been able to quite parse it in its correct meaning. How does 'begs the question' mean that the question's answer is implied in the answer? Does 'beg' have a meaning I'm unaware of or something?

this was discussed on another thread where it caused a minor shitstorm. 'To Beg the Question' is to attempt to prove a point by making a claim that is assumed to be true, or to make a premise based on a conclusion that lacks support. I think it can also be when you just restate the intial premise using different words, for example 'Chocolate is good for you because it's healthy'

more recent and sinister uses of begging the question include:

'Iraq needed to be invaded because they have WMD'

I'd be thoroughly pleased with either Cornel Campbell or Max Romeo, so both would be a bonus indeed. Manasseh too would lovely ta very much, albeit I've seen more of Nick and his assorted MC roster in recent years. Best line up in many years for me.
