Lambeth awards entire Country Show drinks franchise to a single Clapham company

Looks like the bars will be run by Citrus Events staffing - see their website https://www.citruseventstaffing.co.uk/staff/ where they are recruiting bar staff at £6.50 an hour. Not sure how they are a Clapham company - their contact adddress is in Newcastle.

Edited: on reflection maybe only the staff will be provided by Citrus, the actual bars will be run by a different events company

Still begs the question: why couldn't Lambeth find a local company to provide the staffing?

Am I the only person in SW2 who thinks Chucklehead feels like swill, or do you all just drink it to get hammered?

Still slightly off topic but is there REALLY no line up available yet? I have a friend coming from overseas and she'll crap herself if I have someone like Horace Andy or Johnny Clark playing in my local park.

Chucklehead will have a stall, they won't be operating the bars, so one company, and one stallholder. :p

So for most of us it will be the same as every year then?

Served cooler than the usual ambient LCS temperature, it's really not bad at all.

BTW when have you tasted pigswill?

Max Romeo and Cornell Campbell representing the veteran reggae artist contingent - both still in fine voice and capable of a very good show. You'll know a few Max Romeo tunes even if you don't know you do - he did Chase The Devil (sampled by Prodigy), One Step Forward, War In A Babylon, Wet Dream etc. Campbell has one of the finest voices in reggae. Like Toots, he still has a penchant for 80's reggae style leather trousers, jacket and cap :)

Manasseh sound system - hmm, whats this then? Probably the best reggae selector in the country, but he doesn't have a sound system. Not sure if he's borrowing one or just playing on the stage system again, in which case sound system is a bit misleading.

Never seen Natty but he might be good live, London based singer with some interesting lyrics. Not sure what the 'twist' is tbh:
