Kickstarter come out as radically anti-union

I've heard some horror stories about Kickstarter being massive dicks to their direct customers, so it doesn't surprise me that they are similar with their workers.

Thanks for the link and the information, though. I slightly know a couple of users of the platform (in the 'creator' (ugh!) sense) who might be interested to read this.

Yeah, I saw this.

The people actually organising the union have asked people to not boycott Kickstarter though. So now I'm a bit torn. Cos seriously, fuck Kickstarter.

I haven't heard that they've said not to, I just haven't heard any statement at all, and a lot of folk saying (some with bad motivations) that it might be counter productive. It's quite hard to find news though as the topic is so spammed.

It's not that important though - I am not going to drop any kickstarters I was already on - the starters didn't know about this at the time - but I am not going to get involved in any more until this shit is resolved, certainly.

Jesus what dicks. Screw Kickstarter. What are the alternatives?

There are *loads* of them, and plenty of comparison articles out there, but everything that I immediately see is entirely from a consumer perspective.

May be worth a closer look at the ones that focus on nonprofit/ethical thingummies...
