Gutted to hear this. Admired him when he was at Arsenal, but when he turned up at Goodison he was loved almost instantaneously and kept us up at least once. One of the few players I can think of that made everyone else look better than they were.
Absolute legend for Everton. Without him, they probably would have gone down - it wasn't a good period for them. Plus he scored in a Merseyside derby and that's always a plus.
