Phew, I just got into work, the bus drivers were told to abandon their busses in the middle of the street leaving people stranded around cannon street station, nobody knew what was going on, we all crammed into the nearest MacDonald's to watch the news on their plasma screens. All the phone networks went down and are still down, we tried to share taxis to get out of London but there were none. I managed to walk to work (about 1/2 hr walk) watching ambulances and police cars carrying armed police whiz past me. As I got into work they changed our security status from green to red alert as a bus had exploded just up the road.

I walked into the office and everyone was crammed around TV's watching the news, we did a head count as many of our staff come into kings cross station, thankfully everyone is accounted for. Many people have opted to stay at home..wise decision.

That's it from me form now..still a bit shaken but feeling better.

Earlier speculation sounded as if the BBC was saying a device was found -- which suggests found before going off, and rendered safe/defused, to me.

How can whoever did this direct the attacks toward civilians, especially considering the recent scale of protest against all things bad in the World? Not wanting to speculate at all but it certainly makes me think...

The whole of london is in havoc, it's implausible even to think of coming here. The police are obviously tying not to disclose too much but according to a police source for the BBC there was a large tube crash in Kings Cross with lots of fatalities.
