Personally one of the better acts to come from the West Coast. Iv seem a few times and they're always fucking good.

EDITED TO ADD - possibly a group of the finest musicians. Stephen Perkins one of the best drummers around (should of put the best drummer thread ), Dave Navarro great guitarist, Eric Avery fucking superb bass player and Perry Farrell has one the most singular vocal styles in music. as fuck

i saw them supporting the wonderstuff years and years ago and had no idea who they were.

i thought they were crap :D

N*arks ?? I don't know but they had no problems with work permits AFAIK .. hmmm !
I don't believe it but good luck to them IMO
Keep Music Live and in America, Thailand, Argentina, Brazil and China. If you can't make a living in those territories then why should we like you in the UK ?
That is the acid test surely
Fuckin hell

Been caught stealing always makes me jump and Jane Says always makes me sad.... I know they're the obvious ones but they're still fucking

i only ever really got into Ritual De la Habitual - it was more focussed and song based than the others. saw them before they split, and a couple of years back, and they were great both times.

so - a very very good band, but still a bit overrated i think, if that's not a contradiction.

Great band. I still play the first album (1%, I Would for You, Jane Says) more than any other, but the second side of Ritual is outstanding.
Love the acoustic-y stuff, love the long, experimental stuff (Three Days, Then She Did...), not so keen on the funky stuff. I *spit* on the Chilli Peppers...

Oh, and Strays isn't much cop, Nothing's Shocking is good but over-rated, and Kettle Whistle is a brilliant odds-and-sods collection.

Best song: Then She Did.../Slow Divers

One of my favourite bands, before they reformed anyway, big mistake IMO. I dont think any off them individually would be in my top ten musicians for their instruments but together they have a bohemian presence that very few bands have. And they lived to rock'n'roll lifestyle to the extremes. There everything a band should be.

Hmmm
think i`ve popsted before about how many times I saw them back in the day...

Not crap then...in fact awe inspiring ..

Now...not sure haven`t realyy "listened " to the new stuff , had it burbling away in the background but nothing lept out at me...

.p.

I hated them with a passion in my yoof, but I took a lass to see them because her boyfriend worshipped their primadonna singer. Two hours of misery, but I got a blowy on the forecourt of a petrol station on the drive back

I now have fond memories of them.

"Strays" is brilliant .... love "Ritual de lo Habitual" as well.

Saw them at the Academy on the "Strays" tour for the first time. Perry Farrell is undoubtedly one of the best frontmen I've ever seen.

not at all crap. even their latest album is pretty good, if not ground-breaking.

nothing's shocking and ritual de lo habitual are two of my favourite records of all time.

'nothing's shocking' is very very good, ritual....... less so, and the recent stuff is atrocious
That's my take too. FFS the Porno for Pryos stuff is better than Strays. Just because..... ;)

Never got into them, although, when I was 18, someone gave me a 7" single of theirs, because it had the same name as me.

It was all about someone slashing their wrists and I wasn't sure how to take this gift.

Anyone see this yet? A seemingly unprovoked Perry Farrell attacked Dave Navarro on stage mid-song during a Jane’s Addiction gig in Boston last night. Wild.

i saw them supporting the wonderstuff years and years ago and had no idea who they were.

That was a great gig..as was the Subterrania one the night before...so good if fact Perry Farrel lost his voice and cancelled their slot at Reading that weekend
