Is the kit sexist?

First let me say that I don't know who decides what the kit is going to be.

But the women end up basically wearing a boob tube and bikini knickers, while the males wear much more conservative clothing.

There is definitely something going on.

If the gear the women wear is best for atheletic movement, why don't the men wear it too?

What event?

In athletics, the women get the choice of shorts, boxer briefs, or bikini knicker style bottoms, then a singlet, or crop top or similar. That’s more of a choice than the men get.

Most female athletes just wear whatever they find most comfortable and aren’t told what they have to wear, as long as it’s one of the items in the official kit.

Example of one of the options the GB athletes have when choosing:

Such a shame we didn't see this for real at the games. Jaz has been a delight though on comms for the field events.

Hi strung out I didn't know there was a choice, was just chatting with my sister tonight and it came up, my sister commented the women were all wearing knickers (athletics) which were very revealing.

I don't like the wet-look onesie some of the GB male athletes wore and I really hate the women's version which looks like a swimming costume to me and really uncomfortable to run in (the chafing  )

I think there's quite a choice of outfits, because I'm sure some of the field athletes wore quite different stuff to the track men and women.

Dunno about the athletes choice at the Olympics but I've always thought something similar about tennis:
