Awesome place with loads of temples (one of which is the only Brahmin temple in India), a big lake, a maharajas palace and lots of cows and hippies. No booze and 100% vegan. Bhang Lassis everywhere. A very odd but amazing place.

Have been to Udaipur before, not so keen on Jaipur.
Pushkar, the bhang is good, the no booze and vegan stuff not so appealing.
Anyone been to Varanasi?

this is where you really need to go, yes. Definitely, just go. It's like distilled india, the old one not the new.
Depending on what sort of trip this is i could recommend a very basic guesthouse in a brilliant location, balcony on the riverfront, just next door to the funeral pyres. Plenty of bhang around too.

Just looked for the photos from last time there, which means scroll through the years of stuff just looking for the bit where all pictures are in extreme technicolour. this was the view from the terrace of that guesthouse.
It is an amazing city, definitely not everybody's cup of chai but endlessly fascinating imo. That is not my foot.
