I Hate Macs

Well, that one in the OP was pretty crappy, if you ask me
I thought it was a funny and quite topical article to be honest, but it seems that some people are just a tad too defensive about their precious computers.

I am getting a little fed up with all the off topic personal attacks though, but I'm sure jaed will be along shortly to back up his/her latest accusation about all these 'dubious quality anti-Apple' links that I've supposedly been posting up in this thread.

Well... Dunno if you noticed but I've said that the article the OP reffered to was pretty funny... Dunno about the defensive bit... I'm just correcting FUD posted...

Well... The articles with which you started your last two Apple threads... Personally I can't be arsed as this is the bit where the Editor usually gets all huffy and shout-ty... Ho-hum...! <unsubscribes>

Can you produce these examples of me posting up "dubious quality anti-Apple' links" in this thread or not, please?

The fact that you have to keep resorting to unprovoked personal attacks and making stuff up speaks volumes of the paucity of your argument.
Try and keep it on topic and truthful, please. An apology wouldn't go amiss, either.

Thanks

oh yes it does!

Here are a few threads you've started with what some people might think is an anti-Apple/Mac user slant. I can't comment on the quality of the posts as that's a bit subjective. And obviously, they're not this thread.

That's the ones you've started in Software/Computers. On the plus side, you've kept it balanced by posting two threads about Intel Macs now running Windows, which I've obviously not included above.

I'm really not saying that you are biased against Apple, just that an impartial observer (or even a Mac user) might think you were because you posted 11 threads out of the 149 on those forums with what could be perceived as an anti-Apple slant.

Some people might think that's a lot of threads about systems and products you don't use (apart from Quicktime, which you used and started two threads about).

I'm sure you're actually full of praise for Mac's, but just joined in the other threads praising Macs rather than starting new threads about how good they are.
:)

Macs are useless pieces of shit that would have been left to die if it wasn't for the rise of the post Ikea lifestyle aspirationalism of the alternative middle classes. They are seriously dull, overpriced and yes disgustingly bland in their good looks, if they were a person they'd be royal rumble smugfest of Katie Holmes, Mischa Barton and Ben Affleck.

Err, how about you pay attention before wading in and wasting your time digging up irrelevant threads from months/years ago?

We're talking about THIS thread where I've been accused of posting up "pompous anti apple rants" and "dubious quality anti-Apple' links."

In this thread. Got it?

If you want to dedicate so much time to trying to prove me wrong, how about you go off and find some examples of me doing the above in this thread because that's what I was accused of.

Oh, and I could provide you with lots of posts praising Macs in previous threads. But you know what? I can't be fucking arsed.

Jeez.....

i love the fact that rather defend ones word one resorts to tired old cliches which end with blah blah unprovoke personal attack when in actual fact there is nothing of the sort it's a comment or an opinion or an opposing argument and a disagreement doesn't make it an attack unless you are some monumentally fragile weakling... ( NB this would only again be an attack if you were a monumentally fragile weakling and if you were construted havign this being pointed out to be an aggressive action)

then we disappear in the whole dragging the fucking thread of topic with witterings about off topic abuse and then it become a wank in lovefest pantomime of they love me they hate me oh he didn't oh yes he did ....

every fucking thread where anyone one dissagrees with you fuck it...

this is the second reaonable thread dragged off into the doldrums by this continuious boring as fuck shit...get over it really...

*unsubscribes in disgust...

But don't let that mess with your ranting session... Ho-do-dum... <un-subscribes again>

Gotcha. So you just thought you'd pop in and randomly attack me with some made up stuff that was totally irrelevant to this thread?

Glad that's cleared up.

Out of curiousity, why do you feel the need to post up these random personal attacks?

I haven't posted up a single "anti-Apple article" or indeed any links of "dubious quality" in this thread like you suggested, so why bring it up?

What were you hoping to achieve with all these unnecessary, untruthful and off topic personal attacks?

Oh, and an "<unsubscribes>" post promptly followed by yet another post adding "<un-subscribes again>" at the bottom just makes you look a little bit silly.

Oh come on. The article's class, and it's even self deprecating. Only the stereotypical Apple consumer within it would be offended.

"For proof, stroll into any decent games shop and cast your eye over the exhaustive range of cutting-edge computer games available exclusively for the PC, then compare that with the sort of rubbish you get on the Mac. Myst, the most pompous and boring videogame of all time, a plodding, dismal "adventure" in which you wandered around solving tedious puzzles in a rubbish magic kingdom apparently modelled on pretentious album covers, originated on the Mac in 1993. That same year, the first shoot-'em-up game, Doom, was released on the PC. This tells you all you will ever need to know about the Mac's relationship with "fun".

:D and thats so feckin true

I should add: I say that as a happy Macpro user (a comp, which poos all over most other comps with the same specs for the price and doing the same job I do) - so don't get your knickers in a twist 'defenders' of the Mac

Except that Marathon came out the same time as Doom, and is arguably a better game :p

You wouldn't 'let it lie' would you.;)

I don't actually give a toss what games existed - I'm happy to sit here smugly with a top notch machine:)

Oh and change that infantile user tag now please. In fact, I'll give you a day to do it. Bye.

I'm toting a six button mouse with a natty scroll wheel that scrolls both up and down *and* left to right!

Anyone using that top of the range Logitech one that's come out recently?

THe biggest problem with macs is you cant upgrade them like you can with a pc - you cant just open them up and stick replace a part with something better - apple force you to buy a brand new computer each and every time.

And the idea that they dont break down is bullshit - once they do you usually have to buy a whole new computer again.

And they are clearly overpriced - I built an equiavalent of a G5 (same sized dual processor - ram etc.,) last year for exactly half the price.

Apple do look good - but if you really want a good gesign there are PC cases out there if you're willing to blow the cash - most new pc cases dont look that different from a G5 - same black case with grey sheet metal

If you really want to be original, you can do much more to customise a PC than a MAc - check out this gallery:
