Hopefully they’ll be able to clear it up. There were some apocalyptic pronouncements when the Sea Empress went down, and they sorted it way ahead of predictions. My Dad was on the clearup crew and said they’d have it sorted in a few months and the wildlife would recover in a few years - the media obviously like to sensationalise and then move on.
As I’m sure you know, risks get accepted due to the nature of global capital.
It’s really sad that this is happening in a place of such precious biodiversity. I studied Mauritius and Madagascar as part of my degree course. It’s a treasure trove and we’re trashing it.
