ck in the dos days, Norton utilities permitted me to split the screen with one drive on the left and another on the right allowing easy comparisons and copying of files etc.

Now, I have windows file explorer. And I have a D: drive and an external F: drive which is a backup. What I want is the D: drive on the left and the F: backup drive on the right so I can compare and easily back up from left to right.

How hard can it be?

You mean like open a drive in file explorer, then right click the other drive and open in new window? (and resize to fit them side by side)

If you're on Win11 you have the option for split screen displays built in. Hover the mouse over the maximise icon (top left of the window) and you see the various split screen options (which you can resize to your hearts content).

e2a: On Win10 you can drag a window instance to the right or left hand edge of screen and it will snap to a half-screen display.
