How should I cook a slab of bacon ?

I have a kilo of unsliced back bacon. I'm guessing I should marinate and roast it..

Any suggestions?

It's not gammon.

I'll probably go for a muscovado, soy sauce , chili and ginger type of thing but thought someone else may have good ideas

Soak it overnight. Then boil it till cooked. Finish it in the oven. Or miss out boiling it and instead slow roast it.

Or, slow roast it after rubbing it with Chinese five spices which have been ground into a fine rub.

Boil, then make pea and ham soup

chop it into chunks and cook with it.

fry it up with the onions when making a good soup. then it will be great all blended in with the veg.

Then remove skin and apply mustard and honey mix on the cross hatched fat. Bake in the oven til fat is crisp ish.

I would, I sometimes like a sausage casserole where the sausages haven't been browned first, just simmered in stock and cider with onions, carrots etc - different texture and very yummy.
