How do I stop my phone from saving photos in gallery to my google account.

As it says in the thread title.

I never used to have photos saved to google account so why is my phone gallery being saved to my google account?

My phone ks a galaxy phone. New.. Samsung Galaxy S25.

Why don't you want it to back up your photos?

Open Gallery and there should be three little bars in the bottom right corner, tap on them and there a number of Settings options in there, have a look in there and see if you can find something to turn off.
I suspect you've done it unintentionally when setting your phone up

Yeh it's bloody annoying.
I email photos to myself all the time and in Gmail on my phone uploading them to Goggle Drive is all I have - from where I have to download them - I don't even get a preview on my phone...

You'll be thankful they're backed up when your phone breaks/gets nicked.

Fair point. I didnt think of that.
I use google for other things and often dont want to trawl through my photos to find a file on the phone.

I may be disorganised...
