Apologies if this has been done. I mean, I looked through all TWO PAGES of this section and there's nothing.

Basically I thought it would be good to have a somewhere to recommend places to go that not a lot of people know of. Hopefully in doing this, these places won't now become overcrowded and ruined(!)

I'll start:

Afyon, Central Western Turkey (impressive fort on top of a massive mountain, and all-round nice little city/town)

Bled, Slovenia (nice little town, picturesque lake with an island complete with church.. very fairy-tale-like.)

Patmos & Lipsi, Dodencanese, Greek Islands (Patmos is a friendly little island with an impressive monastery on a hill with great views, plus a cave where the Book of Revelations is meant to have been written. Lipsi is a tiny, peaceful island. Worth going to-to just experience the remoteness)

(Patmos)

ah man, need to go to more greek islands. was due to go last month but had to cancel :(
whats that one with the massive underwater volcano? used to be round, then the volcano erupted (not recently!) so now its banana shaped...

EDIT: It's called Santorini. Never been buts it looks nice!

Oooh, forgot the Mala Fatra mountains in Slovakia. Pretty lush views, plenty of different routes, some chairlifts and Zilina makes for a nice town nearby. When I went in 2005 we stayed with a family in the little village of Stefanova. Sample the local plum brandy Slivovica.

Friends of mine went to the Durmitor National Park in northern Montenegro and came back raving about it. And looking at the their photos, i'm not surprised:

The coastal towns of Kotor, Bar and Budva come highly recommended too.
