Help buying traditional Chinese jewellery

strung out

Hi guys! Long time no see.

I'm looking to buy some traditional Chinese jewellery - my girlfriend is Chinese Malaysian - but I've got no idea where to start looking in this country.

I've had hints dropped to me about a circular jade and gold pendant necklace, but I'd quite like to get something that's good quality and a decent carat of gold. (14k-18k).

I can't seem to find anywhere in the UK that specialises in this stuff and also has an online presence, so does anyone have any other suggestions? I'm coming to London in a few days, so could make a trip to China Town, if there are any Chinese jewellers there.

Ideas, links, info etc. would be hugely welcome :)

I have a friend who is an expert on Chinese Archaeology and worked at the British Museum but the last I heard she was living on an eco-camp in the Arctic Circle...

The two big gold sellers I know of in China (Chow Tai Fook and Luk Fook) don't seem to have stores in England. :(

not chinese, but maybe you could find something at pebble london - they use a lot of semi-precious stones. you can run a search for gold pendants. this is jade but set with silver...
