Heels worn through within 2 weeks - return or not to return?

zenie

>^^<
I think it's worth an email to their customer services team, but would you take a pair of shoes back to the shop if the heels had worn through so quickly? Not fit for purpose?

They were only just over £20 so not worth re-heeling (at my expense!!) tbh. :hmm::D

What sort of heels? stiletto? Was £20 the original price? How often have you worn them?

Why is it not worth £7 of your own money to reheel?

MOAR INFORMATION!

Where can you get heels done for £7?!

Not stilletto just small but chunky heels, I should say the tips have worn through not the whole heel! :D

I've worn them maybe 8 times... :hmm:

After eight times, I wouldn't take them back to the shop. And I wouldn't expect to pay more than 5 or 6 pounds for re-heeling, I get mine done in Brixton (not in the plushest of outfits though).

Have they worn down at one corner because you walk wrong?

I do not walk wrong  I do actually but these have worn down on the backs of the heels, not the sides which is where my usual heels wear down. They're fuckin heeled sandals, I expected them to be a bit more resilient then this :D

If you bin them that's £2.50 a wear.

If you reheel them at £7 and wear them another 8* times that's £1.68 per wear. *more if the heel is better quality.

If you reheel them again at £7 and wear them another 8 times that's £1.41 per wear.

But you will probably get more than 8 wears out of each time.

any chance of a graph for this?

It's definitely worth getting them re-heeled. The re-heel will probably be better quality and will wear better than the original heels (not difficult in some cases).

Go for it. I think shops will refund a lot more than people think they will. Next Directory refunded me the cost of Roberto Cavalli sunglasses because the arm snapped off after a year!! I didn't expect that, just thought they might send them for repair. :D

Magic Sam said it happened because I have a stupidly big head.

For £20 I'd be a bit embarrassed to take them back. I took a pair back - and got refunded - which had split down one side after just a month of light wear, but then they cost £65.

ah quimcunx already did one

I think the time and patience you put into yours really shows though in accuracy and increased information, so well done.

That was my first graph ever, I think, so I'm not going to be too hard on myself.

Top pieces (the thingies on the end of the heel) are meant to be replaceable, so I don't think you'll get money back if the shoes were only £20 in the first place. If you paid £20 it doesn't leave alot of money spare for replaceable components. Get them repaired, you'll get better quality which won't wear down so fast.

They're not even leather :facepalm::(:D

Still probably worth it for £7...

yeh there probably is Kanda, and I have no shame for those that said they'd be too embarassed, why are you embarassed about returning their faulty products?

It's not exactly faulty though is it? Cheap shoes come with cheap heels that wear down fast.

I've taken shoes back before when they wore through on the first wear.

This.

They are £20 shoes the heel tip is £1.50* of that and you got £1.50's wear out of them.

*guess.

Well it's never anything to do with the price of the product when you're talking about faulty goods, the law is about it being 'fit for purpose'. :)

No, not faulty, just soft plastic - I'm surprised they didn't do what some stores do which is to put a disclaimer in the box pointing out that top pieces are meant to wear down.

You shoulda bought better quality shoes which have spares with them! Irregular Choice have spares but they were £50 in the sale :)
I generally only buy metal heels, the exception being the IC ones which are plastic but not for everyday wear.

It's satisfactory quality, specifically taking price into consideration.

s14(2A) Sale of Goods Act said:
goods are of satisfactory quality if they meet the standard that a reasonable person would regard as satisfactory, taking account of any description of the goods, the price (if relevant) and all the other relevant circumstances

sorry
