There's 8 in our store. However we are short on almonds! There are apparently 3 packets in my store.
Shouldn't this be in the brexit benefits thread?
Northern Turkey but they presumably have to cross the EU. Italy is the second biggest supplier.Who do the UK get their hazelnuts from?
Why would this ie with goods from one non EU country travelling across the EU to another non EU country be a factor now not earlier in the year or last year?Northern Turkey but they presumably have to cross the EU. Italy is the second biggest supplier.

Because soj wanted them now and not earlier in the year. Why would this ie with goods from one non EU country travelling across the EU to another non EU country be a factor now not earlier in the year or last year?
I get mine from Lidl!I get mine from the hazelnut bushes around where I live in London, my parents grow some too
Dunno. Just answering the question. It easily could be the case that suppliers are willing to service certain routes when supplies are bountiful but not when they're not.Why would this ie with goods from one non EU country travelling across the EU to another non EU country be a factor now not earlier in the year or last year?
Yeh but I am a bit obsessed with hazelnuts - they are the perfect tasting nut for me. I already eat loads of walnuts and almonds, don't need any more of either!I had some walnuts recently, if you care, and you don't. I haven't looked for hazelnuts, and I didn't think anyone did. Aren't they the pink wafers of mixed nuts?
There are always almonds, I'd have thought. More than enough.
To be clear, I've been buying them for months with no problem, it's only been in the last month that I can't find any anywhere.Because soj wanted them now and not earlier in the year.
Both Lidls I go to don't even fucking stock them!I get mine from Lidl!
Ooo cheers lovely, will have a sken through that! These are good nuts Kentish Cobnuts
I was waiting for you to post me a link in St Helens tbh, when I posted that.Maybe try the asian supermarket down the road?
Cheers chuck, but yeh, way too spenny. All these online wholefood shops cost a fucking bomb! They're £2.10 in the Asda normally for 200g.You could order some online from here sojourner - no idea if the prices are reasonable compared to high street retailers though - don't think I've ever bought hazelnuts by themselves.

Lidl is so frustrating. I've a choice of three fairly nearby and only one stocks hazelnuts. I think they have overtaken pecans (which seem to have risen in price a lot recently) as my favourite nut. Both Lidls I go to don't even fucking stock them!
Shitty fucking St Helens grumblegrumble.
Doesn't make sense does it, especially not given they're all within a certain area. I know that some of our local shops have the most basic produce you can get because they know everyone is so desperately skint, and that in another area, you can buy much more variety in the same named shop, but in the same area?Lidl is so frustrating. Yeah it's weird; Brixton Lidl has a better nut selection than Streatham which is stronger on lentils.
