Has anyone switched to a Tracker plan for energy?

Browsing Reddit earlier it randomly threw up a thread about Octopus Tracker, where the price changes daily depending on the wholesale price. Intuitively that doesn't sound great, but everyone on the thread said they'd saved money. I'm curious if anyone here has done similar and if you did. Obviously you need a smart meter to do it, but I'm already on Octopus, so tempted. Prices tend to get cheaper over summer and we're coming out of the coldest period and you can switch back, although there's a two week wait to do so.

Edit: ah, no. I’m on “flexible”, which is subject to Government price cap, unlike the tracker.
