Has anybody bought furniture from made.com ?

Not sure where to put this, but here seems OK as this deals with the home. My sofa is falling apart and I need a new one and I've found one on made.com which is exactly what I'm looking for. It's also just about in my price range:

The company has been hyped in several style mags for offering affordable designer furniture. However when you google made.com, the next thing that comes up is endless warnings about the company and its poor costumer service on this thread:

The aggrieved often shout the loudest, but it seems a little worrying and yet I'm soo tempted by that sofa, because I haven't seen another one I like as much. Has anybody dealt with them ? Maybe they've gotten better ?

Never heard of them before but the site looks pretty good. Nice bit of design, would want to see the build quality before spending too much I spect.

On the experience of a colleague who ordered from them, I'd assume they'd be cheap but risky. I'd go with them like a shot if I needed a sofa as I'm pretty price conscious, though I wouldn't expect it delivered soon (or indeed when they say they will first time!)

I wouldn't be surprised if there was a bit of grief involved (on the basis it will all end well).

If they have to produce to a certain price point, I suppose the lesser of all evils is perhaps overseas/distant manufacture (and cheap/long delivery/lead times) rather than through materials/quality, or showrooms or finance.

I have a console table from them, it is gorgeous, very good quality, has lasted well and arrived exactly when they said....

Yes - I ordered a sofa bed and a small table from them. I knew that the stock is shipped in batches so we would be waiting up to 6 weeks but that didn't bother me. In the end it arrived in 8 weeks but as I wasn't desperate. The product seems good quality and I am happy with the purchase. But nothing went wrong for me so I didn't have to speak to customer services or change my order etc. which I guess is where things can go wrong.

I don't mind having to wait a couple of months. I just want to be sure it arrives on the day its supposed to arrive.

This all sounds good. Will go to the showroom tomorrow and check it out for real. I've got less tax to pay than I thought so I have a bit of spare money to splash out. :)

No idea but I really like that couch, wouldn't suit my house but I still like it.

I've bought it. Won't get it till April though.

If anybody has any horror stories about made.com, now I don't want to hear them anymore. :D
