Powerful video piece:

Two women affected by the Grenfell Tower and Aberfan disasters have been discussing how the two tragedies have affected their communities.

The fire at Grenfell Tower in North Kensington killed 72 people in June 2017, just eight months after the 50th anniversary of the Aberfan disaster.

Denise Morgan was 11 when her sister died after a colliery slip crushed the school in her home village in the south Wales valleys in 1966, killing 116 children and 28 adults

Yvette Williams lives in the shadow of Grenfell, and says her community can learn from Aberfan as it tries to move forward.
Grenfell 'can learn a lot from Aberfan'

I remember the day that Aberfan happened. Richard Dimbleby reporting from the scene, standing in the mud with tears streaming down his cheeks.

Me too Sas, I was nine and was upset to see so many adults in our village crying. Being a mining village a lot of our neighbours were from the area and had families in Aberfan.
I felt the same sorrow about Grenfell all these years later.
