Not sure there is a direct link to this but at the top of the BBC World Cup website currently there is a video of their goals of the tournament.

What were your favourites?

Siphiwe Tshabalala (South Africa) v Mexico
Maicon (Brazil) v North Korea
David Villa (Spain) v Honduras
Mesut Oezil (Germany) v Ghana
Fabio Quagliarella (Italy) v Slovakia
Luis Suarez (Uruguay) v South Korea
Asamoah Gyan (Ghana) v USA
Carlos Tevez (Argentina) v MexicoMiroslav Klose (Germany) v Argentina
Giovanni van Bronckhorst (Netherlands) v Uruguay

From those, I particularly like Suarez's, Villa's and Maicon's.

Edited to add individual video clips (albeit with adverts at the beginning of each one)

I do like Quagliarella's goal, especially given the context.

There's always too many long shots in these lists for me, I'm much more a fan of some nifty piece of skill or a good team goal.

Is it just me or is the standard insanely high?

I think Maicon for me, truly poetic football. But Suarez and Van Bronckhorst are also surely all-time classic goals.

e2a and Villa

The swerve on Maicon's shot came from the fact it was hit first time while moving across - he was definitely going for it! Amazing

Was listening to the Holland vs Uruguay match on five live, and they were saying Van Bronckhorst's was a sloppy effort and a schoolboy error for the keeper. Got to the bar at half time, saw the replay and they were celebrating it as the cracker that it was. Weird.

From those, probably Klose's for the team play. Fabiano's should have been there, as well as at least one of the Japanese free kicks against Denmark.

Nice to see a bit of English humility on this London-based forum (or the Beeb link for that matter) for not gratuitously adding England onto the poll.

That is all.

Villa - one of disappointingly few goals to come from great individual skill, and from the best striker in the competition.

Tshabalala for me. After that it looked like the tournament might really take wing. It's a pity it didn't.

It's also a tremendously satisfying name to say.
