The weather beyond about a week ahead stretches even the most experienced weather forecaster
those greenstake pegs don't look like they're intended to be reusable- once in the ground they'll be very hard to get out again.

Oh dear
Oh dear
especially given that every year there are literally hundreds of programmes left on the pallets by the gates anyway
uncovered in the rain
I'm dreading it, all the fun and enthusiasm i had about it being a great year is ebbing away and its looking like being sheer hard work again, even if it doesnt rain over the weekend its been raining for days here and everything is soggy, the river's the highest i've seen it. so it might be muddy on site if it doesnt dry out.
but it will still be fun. i just dont fancy trudging. . . but i have new boots!
wiskers
The Met office are as good an authority as you can get. Serious users of weather data, such as aviation, use them exclusively. The Met office will not do day-by-day predictions this far out, and for good reason.
What Metcheck is doing is taking daily forecast data from a supplier, and then not aggregating it for longer term forecasts. This means they show you day by day forecasts that aren't so much inaccurate, more totally irrelevent.
One user of Met office data did this rather deceptive trick a few years ago, and the Met office duly cut them off for misusing their data.
When it gets down to about the 5 day range, it's possible that Metcheck will be reasonably accurate. Right now though, it's as good as flipping a coin.
absolutely - currently predictions are changing for the same day as the day progresses - lots of fronts that are being a bit oddI thought that too. Not if it rains enough though eh
I was looking at that earlier - those of you who saw it then, check it again now. Vastly improved!
I don't think I could disagree with you more about the met office, certainly the stuff that joe public sees - I can't remember the last time they were even vaguely about rightThe Met office are as good an authority as you can get. High pressure is expected to dominate the weather across many parts of England and Wales throughout the forecast period, especially southern and eastern parts of England. In these areas it will be mainly dry with plenty of sunshine, light winds and only the odd isolated shower. These settled conditions will also extend into Scotland and Northern Ireland at times, although in general northern and western parts of the United Kingdom are at greater risk of seeing bands of cloud and rain from time to time. The temperature will in general be around or above the average for June, although it will be locally very warm in the sunnier spots in central, southern and eastern areas.
Stop worrying about the weather!
There's nothing we can do about it, we'll all be taking wellies and waterproofs anyway, worrying won't achieve anything but cloud the excitement of the build up. Cmon you lot, this is supposed to be something aweome!
Plus it's gonna be sunny anywhoo.

No, come on YOU!
Please don't try and pretend that it makes no difference whatsoever to your enjoyment levels whether it's a dry sunny one or a total mudbath.
Of course most people will go well prepared with waterproofs, boots, etc., of course people still enjoy themselves even in bad conditions**,. but that's not the fucking point is it? ... sparklefish is right!
Lets not get in denial about this, rain and mud, especially on last years scale, is SHITE.
**In spite of, not because of the rain and mud though!
We're owed!
Its going to rain but it will be fun.
Yeah, sorry ...
Bit of a sore point I spose, ahem .. ... like others (but more extremely so!) I am sodesparate for a sunny one thisn time, or at least dry. Which is stupid, because I can't do anything about whether it rains or shines, but somehow I just can't help checking thsoe forecasts!!!
<slopes off .. >
Good psychology there, expect the worst, then be pleasantly surprised by the best!
I almost don`t dare to say it but anything barring a plague of locusts is going to be better than last year .
