Glastonbury 2008

Our tickets have been delivered

I also have a couple of mates who are very happy about the slow ticket sales... neither of them were going up unitl last Saturday night. The powers of some drinking and smoking round a bonfire :D

I'm taking lots of metal tent pegs because it going to be very, very wet. again

:(

Oh and we solved all tent and travel problems by hiring a camper van for the week

do you mind sharing where from and how much? Quotes I got made it far too expensive for us but really would love a camper van as we're getting to that age now where the less time we have to spend on an airbed, the better!

Well my mister has sorted it all, he actually booked it back in February and got quite a good deal on it by all accounts, though I dont know if that had anything to do with the timing of the booking. All I know is he found it on the net and its from a place in Manc. I will try and find out some details and if am successful (coz getting any general info out of him can sometimes be likened to getting blood out of a stone!) then I will certainly post up the details for you. :)

Thank you - I'm in Liverpool, so Mancland would be feasible.

I think it is more like, becoming brighter over the next couple of weeks and then possibly a little bit more unsettled in the last week of June.

Unlikely to be very accurate at 3 weeks away though.

(I am bored at work and have been investigating this morning)
did I at any point say it would be accurate? :p I said this is what they are currently saying

also with reference to the mm's of rain, thats over a 12 hour period - not each hour's worth :) so it looks worse than it is

2mm over 12 hours is fuck all

But

a) i want a hot dry one

and

b) that rain logo on the site is menacing :(

I swear if it's like last year again that's it, me and Glastonbury are finished. I will have a fucking week in Shagaluf for half the price. It will be shite but at least it will be fucking dry. :( *cries*

Me too.

I thought I had had enough but decided to give it another chance when I found I could palm the kids off on my mother. They certainly can't take another like last year - no, not even tho my daughter is in love with the lead singer of the Foals:D

So shall be wild and free this year:D

Re starch tent pegs, I believe they will be given out at info points free of charge, and will be sold at millets stalls for megabucks. Workers can pick up most of what is given out in the bags at info points, and only the full programme costs money.

I too got my infoworker confirmation today - never quite replaces the feeling of fancy ticket in my grubby hands!

every year we have a game trying to blag a programme from here, a guide from there and so on. Usually succeed, but it's not always certain (some Oxfam stewards take life way, way too seriously :) ) a

especially given that every year there are literally hundreds of programmes left on the pallets by the gates anyway

It's the weather in the run up to the event that's the key - if the ground is already saturated it'll be a mudbath, if it's been reasonably dry then a bit of rain won't be a problem :)
