Glastonbury 2008

Michael Eavis said:
The other difference this year is that you can tick a box when you register which allows your 2008 registration to be used for the 2009 and 2010 festivals. We couldn't do that last year because of data protection issues. I think it'll be nice for people not to have to worry about registering again for a few years and it seems to have been a popular option with the people who've registered so far.

That's interesting - last year he was saying that they might only let people go once every three years.

to be fair he seems to come out with lots of random nonsense he only just seems to have thought of :)

They might not get enough people registering to sell out.

I bet they get plenty. And anyway, as newbie argued somewhere up there, the perception that it's not such a popular place to be anymore is by no means a bad thing for anybody :)

When is William going to start predicting the sun then? He has to be right at least once.

My decision about whether to risk going into labour at Glastonbury has been solved by the fact that we didn't get our stall, despite being the first to apply *shakes fist at Mean Fiddler*, so you won't be hearing my screams echoing across the Green Fields :(

:(

Do you know exactly why you've been excluded scumba?

Is Liz Elliott being made to cut back further on Green Fields stall allocations? :(

No point - it's out of date now :p Expect the 100,000 online registration mark to be breached in the next 24 hours.

It went past 112,000 yesterday evening. More than 10k in 24 hours. One theory is that there are people who are assuming it's still an end Feb deadline as it was last year.

Here's something I've been working on for a few weeks, finally now live tonight.

All you need to know, geographically, about the festival (perhaps!). If you are new to Glastonbury it will give you an idea of the scale of the 'city', and if you are an old hand it could well help you find those curiosities that have previously eluded you.

This version is based on the 2007 full map, with a few other bits and pieces thrown in - notably some food places recommended by other visitors. There's room for plenty more if anyone has any suggestions.

Please let me know if you see any errors or have any suggestions. As well as publishing some updated versions of this over the next few months, I also hope to release a 2008 version shortly before this year's festival.

Hope you enjoy...

(Yes, I have way too much time on my hands ;) )

So I started a rumour for a laugh on here that the KLF will be playing at Glastonbury this year and it seems the rumour has taken off. Oops!

lol @ william's reply

That's hysterical. I find the importance people attach to who's playing a little confusing given that surely you can turn up with no knowledge at all and have a fantastic time on the hoof. But actually believing some random on the net who justifies what he says with basically 'honest guv, inside info' is pathetic. And then being soooo upset when it's not true... ffs.
