Well, having watched a fair bit of it on the telly, I reckon I'd have had a great time if I'd been there. After the mud dried up, it looked like a really good laugh and enough genuinely good acts (Raconteurs, Seasick Steve, Massive Attack, Kings Of Leon) on an otherwise dire bill to keep me entertained. And obviously there would've been shitloads of stuff going on that the BBC don't cover. Glastonbury's managed to hang in there, I reckon.
The Verve sounded good although I do wish Richard Ashcroft would get rid of all that Liam Gallagher 'Come on!' posturing. It doesn't really do them any favours if they want to be taken seriously as a current act rather than a 90's throwback who've just reformed for the money. And the new song's shite, particularly if you play it right after 'Bittersweet Symphony'. Compare and contrast. Actually, don't. Nick is still a really unique guitarist, mind. I don't know anyone else that has that sound.
Anyhow, if I'm around and the finances look alright I've decided I'll give it another go next year. I think they'll sort the line-up out a bit more next year - despite all the comments to the contrary, they've got to admit that the poor lineup was a factor in the ticket sales. You can't blame it all on the weather. It'll be interesting to see what bands they come up with next year - and how tickets sell.
I'm glad this year's been a success. I really feared that we'd lost Glastonbury forever.
