just been scanning the line up, and wtf is will young doing playing on the avalon stage?
I'm guessing that's an emily eavis booking, not an avalon booking
I was going to say he'd get crucified playing avalon, but i think it's more like he'd get politely ignored.
some very odd line ups as per usual at glasto after they got scared about potential overcrowding due to actually putting on line ups that make sense, and I can't help feeling like there's some major acts missing - probably to pay for jay z. I'm very surprised to not see none of pendulum, soulwax, dave clarke, chemical brothers, underworld, leftfield, prodigy, daft punk, Longrange etc. playing. Basically the line up's really really light on quality crossover electronic artists.
Had they spent the same money they spent on jay z on daft punk , or several of the others I reckon they'd have sold out way earlier, and I'd probably have been there. Basically what they've done is move a few of the electronic music artists from the jazz stage to the other stage (ie groove armada, massive attack) and replace them on the jazz stage with more jazz/soul/world music stuff. Nothing wrong with more world type stuff on the jazz stage, just that there's a big overall drop in big electronic artists.
I'm not massive fan of pendulum, but I'd have thought that they should have played this year on one of the bigger stages as they've pretty much been the biggest selling electronic music artists on the club circuit this year.
think I've just remembered why I wasn't going
