Still taking soundings from focus groups.

Can't be any worse than William Hague turning up at the Notting Hill carnival in a baseball cap. Maybe Cameron will turn up in an ethnic sarong.

Latest word on the tipi field is it's actually being moved OUTSIDE the fence.

This is a valid rumour you reckon?

And what do the established tipi people think (I don't mean the tipi hire companies)

:( :(

I agree with Dub's post at the bottom of the previous page -- sad really.

BUT I have read the argument that the existing tipi field had simply become too small for the many many more tipis (all categories) that come in increasing numbers every year ... is there any possibility that some tipi people wanted a move themselves??

...I wondered last time how many were the usual tipi peeps and how many were rentals. If more of the latter, then maybe they're treating the tipi encampment like campervans now, and keeping hem separate.

When I see him swigging a can and smoking a bong in the Green Crew area with some truck dwelling GF crew, then I'll believe he's really got the Glastonbury idea sorted out ... :p :D ;)

Instead, he'll be hanging backstage with liggers ...

That's the way my thoughts were going too ...

It's young, it's sexy and it could swing him the youth vote

Now, thinking ahead to camping, I just don't think I'm going to make it to the site before Thursday. If there's no space at Camp Urban, where's the best place for us to pitch up? I was thinking of that field above the Glade where I've been a couple of times before, but is there anywhere else that's decent in that area of the festival?

Mean Fiddler? ?

Moving the Tipi field? ?

<runs off with Aqua>

*Joins them in far-flung corner!* :D

Re Clearchannels - trying to remember a drunk conversation and not be late for work, I think there's been some weaselling around by folk to get a company set up that's not clearchannel but is Mean Fiddler still (or owned by them, or owned by the same Directors or summat like that so no ClearChannel "ownership" of Glastonbury.

Whether there's any real division when it comes to influence and purse-strings is another matter.

But, as I said, tis is me trying to recall a drunk conversation and as a few of you well know, i'm not very good at that! :D

Hmmmmmm. Well we'll see what comes out in the wash.

Depending altogether on the details of any deal, it could be argued it's a good thing of sorts, that Clear Channel can't be directly/blatantly involved, and that any connection has to be kept at arms length.

Not as good as if they weren't involved at all, obviously, but this latest information looks interesting ....

Have now finally caught ip with all the details of registration. One thing that stands out as a relief, is that Glastonbury have undertaken to entirely destroy the database of registrations after the festival, and not to use it/sell its contents for promotions, spam etc.

It's still going to be a bit of a pain to sort out though -- will need to gen up on how to get a digital photo of myself online, and how to attach it to the registration

I'm sure there's plenty of folk around here can help you with that! ;)

Hot and sunny daytime throughout, 27C max temps with a very light breeze, mild and balmy nighttime throughout, no difficult winds, no rain, no mud ...

your five+ months-ahead forecast can go down as well as up, the closer you get to your event!! :p ;) :D

Hate to worry you William* but this is an El Nino year and while the net effect is higher temperatures globally it could possibly wreck our summer, like it did in 1998

*not entirely true :D

Doesn't necessarily follow. El Nino can affect things in all sorts of directions.

Besides, even in 1998, we had a very hot WOMAD (the only hot weekend in the whole of July, in fact) and some good weather at later festies in August. All that needs to happen is that such starts earlier :)

Last years Glade was unfuckingbelievebly bollox sweatingly hot.

E-fests are reporting that the Chilli Peppers have been turned down by Michael Eavis after offering to play for free. On the plus side last time I seen them at Glasto they did cover the Banshees Christine....

And James have announced a new tour so who knows maybe one more time ont the Other stage?????

(its January and the rumours are already up and running.)

Dose anyone have a clue as to weather the online photo app will be a case of uploading the jpg from your comp or getting it hosted and entering the location?
