Gemini Tablet Pausing While Streaming

As per title. Steaming stuff from the internet, which works perfectly on smart TVs and my phone, but keeps freezing on cheapie tablet. Is it just too weak?

If all your stuff is on 5Ghz Wi-Fi and this is stuck on 2.4 then it's an unfair comparison and it's more likely to crap out.

Never heard of the make before? With a large HD screen and little RAM it'd struggle.

It's a £100 (or so, can't remember) one from Asda. I bought it for my Dad when he was in hospital for months with no TV but he gave it back and never used it.

Not enough RAM, no 802.11ac and an unknown CPU make it unlikely it's going to do streaming well, particularly actual HD.

I'm going to guess its that 1Gb of RAM that is the problem. Can it do iPlayer? It's quite good at caching so is a bit more resilient to poor network connections but it needs somewhere to cache to and 1Gb of RAM probably won't be enough.

Same footy site I always use
You could probably work out whether the different streams are different formats, somehow, but it would be quite involved.

I don't know anything about these kind of sport streaming sites, but if the source content they're ripping off is different and they don't do much to repackage it, it might well vary between competitions.

My latest post is that I'm streaming the current Arsenal game with no issues though. I realise my next question shows my ignorance - would how many others are watching the stream have any effect?
