Can anyone help me with this?
I have a 55l tropical tank that's experiencing an unexpected nitrite spike. It seemed to start after a routine small water change but has got worse and worse. We lost 5 fish overnight and the rest looked fucked - up at the top of the tank gasping. All looked well until yesterday when my OH did a routine water change. We have platys who have been breeding successfully. I've done 3 x 50% water changes including rinsing the filters out today but nitrites are still through the roof.
We're out of tapsafe until tomorrow - is there anything we can do to keep the fish alive?
