Football Lads Against Fascism

Thanks. That's fair, there's not a platform on the planet i don't find annoying atm. Hope you are doing well anyway MM :)
Would be helpful if they broadcast this stuff on other channels. They have a Youtube one which appears untouched recently. Don't want to criticise really as support what they do.

So @SamMeliaPA likes to throw his own supporters under the bus.

PA after their brief encounter in Leeds a couple weeks back have reached out to the dregs of the edl movement to try and garner protection and "cannon fodders" so they can have their rallys.

Took me a while to work out what was going on there, but it does appear that FLAF turning up set the PA lot into enough of a panic that they just started mistaking each other for antifascists and swinging at each other, fantastic work:

Patriotic Alternative Continue To Lie About Leeds Arrest

The video we share here captures not only the arrest of a Patriotic Alternative supporter in Leeds on Saturday, but also a conversation between two former EDL now PA supporters, Bulldog (aka 'Yorkshire Patriot') & Yorkshire Rose confirming that "He were on our side." The fascist side.

Bulldog: He were on our side.
Yorkshire Rose: Eh?
Bulldog: He were on our side.
Yorkshire Rose: Yeah.

The man who calls himself 'Pembrokeshire Patriot' has been living off the back of a lie all weekend, claiming victory over 'Antifa' when in fact, he punched out one of his own men during the confusion and panic that ran through the fash when FLAF tried to get at them.

English Rose posted the first video from the scene on Saturday, which referred to a 'Patriot Arrested' after 'attack by Antifa'.

Presumably the arrested patriot has been told to keep his head down while the conceit is promoted by a cowardly PA leadership who only appeared after the scuffle. The few PA who were brave enough to come to the front with their banner scarpered as soon as FLAF got near them.

Patriotic Alternative's leadership know we've got close to them on a couple of occasions now. That's why they're now appealing to the drunks and weirdos of the former Yorkshire Patriots & the EDL. They stay safe in their hole until the drunks have had their 'away day'. It's a cynical tactic to use the flotsam & jetsom of the EDL - that even Tommy Robinson rejected - as canon fodder.

We repeat again. No FLAF members were arrested in Leeds. No FLAF members were injured in Leeds. There was no 'dispersal order' served on us by the police. It was a brief confrontation with punches exchanged, men and women in FLAF's frontline going toe-to-toe before the police separated us from the fash and pushed us back across the road. It's only then that the fash started pavement dancing.

On what was the hottest day of the year, Victoria Gardens in Leeds city centre became the focal but not so vocal point of around 45 far right sad sacks under the leadership of ‘Hull Hitler’ Alex Yerbury following his recent split from Patriotic Alternative.

The assorted toothless pissed up representatives of the master race stood around by the war memorial giving Nazi salutes and generally being as obnoxious as possible. A counter demo of around 200 anti racists from Stand Up To Racism, local trade unions & activist groups were on the other side of the square and the usual insults were exchanged under the watchful eye of several hundred police, some on horseback.

The heat increased somewhat with the arrival of a 40-strong group of FLAF stewards made up of both lads and lasses committed to confronting the fascists, who by now were looking rattled and very red faced. A combination of too much booze and sunstroke or perhaps just being very angry hateful fucks. Who knows. 🤷‍♂️

Our group got within twenty yards of the assembled meatheads before the police realised we were not of the same persuasion and quickly surrounded FLAF pushing us away from any potential meaningful engagement.

The FLAF stewards group were escorted by a ‘moving kettle’ operation surrounded by a wall of cops & mounted police around us too. Eventually we were slowly walked to the other side of the library towards the back of the Anti-Racist counter protesters who at first weren’t sure if the police were pushing right-wingers towards them. This was quickly transformed into a very friendly atmosphere when faces on either side of the police line were recognised. We’d like to thank the comrades who remonstrated with the police for us to be released from the kettle to join them. ✊

The spirit of working class unity was evident from the speeches made from an open platform, meaning just about everyone got a word in, including a FLAF speaker who got a great reception to his appeal for antifascist unity & action against a fascist movement that has clearly set itself against the interests of the working class:
“Fascists are the bosses slaves, they only see what’s in front of their eyes. They don’t do joined up thinking. They see refugees on boats, people in hotels, the homeless - all in isolation. They’re too stupid to realise that it’s the same people at the top who’ve been fcuking us over since Thatcher was in power who are fcuking over refugees & the working class today.”

Ultimately, it’s the police who proved to be the biggest gang in town on Saturday and it was pretty much game over in terms of actual confrontation. There were a couple of incidents where antifascists were pulled by the police, but no charges made. The police have certainly learned from the last encounter in Leeds when they walked us straight into Patriotic Alternative’s hotel protest, much to the alarm of the gathered fascists.

Thanks to all the activists who travelled to Leeds. We will be back.

Looked on FLAF's facebook page and there's some useful comments on there as well:
"With families around it wouldn’t have been appropriate to do anything other than observe what was going on. There were some colourful verbal exchanges with one of the far-right leaders who tried to wind-up the protesters. The counter protest kept a distance from the church until the service was over & the church empty. We don’t want the local Polish community to get the impression that we are against them, only this far-right group. We will do a bit more research on this group & try to open up a dialogue with the Polish community.
The security and some of those attending were all BIG lads who looked very capable. That small group of antifascists was very young & wouldn't have stood a chance had things turned ugly. We only had 3 there to observe & we would've fired in if the fash had attacked them, but they were really only interested in securing the entrance to the grounds. Fair play to those kids for taking the risk & still being prepared to counter them."

Personally I was most worried about what might happen to people on their way home, since the fash had a few people driving around the area in a truck, but not heard about anything happening so seems like everyone got home alright. More preparation and outreach work definitely needed for next time.

Was offline for a couple of weeks so thought I had missed out on this but was able to pre order one of the reprint. Some size of a booklet - not what I was expecting.

Looking forward to reading it.
