Football betting and odds, discussion and other gambling stuff

New year, and the long broke January is almost over (having been paid early in December )..

After some good debates in this thread, I'm modifying the strategy to the following.

Betting at prices around the 1.1 area (mostly in play)... I'm simply looking to double my starting stake. If achieved, you bank your original stake, then have a more aggressive bet with the profit. ( my preference is to have a treble on in-form League 1 and League 2 teams who are playing away from home, maybe stick Barca or Celtic in with that to boost the odds slightly. )

Below show hows how you initial safe bets will accumulate at odds of 1.1

Starting Balance £20

  1. 22.0
  2. 24.2
  3. 26.6
  4. 29.3
  5. 32.2
  6. 35.4
  7. 39.0
  8. 42.9
So were looking for 7-8 winners, Bank, and then find a decent value bet.

Will start on Friday evening.

I'm an ex-bookmaker. In that I was a manager for William Hill. I understand betting. And I have to point out that your system ffsear goes against all professional gambling logic. The more bets you have, the more chance you have of losing. In a nutshell, that's why your system is a failure. You hardly need me to point this out. Your results speak for themselves.

In effect, you are proposing a 11/12/13 team accumulator. This is madness.

You need to look for value bets, not sure fire favourites. There are no such things as sure fire favourites. And there is rarely such a thing as a sure fire 13 team acca.

Your repeating stuff that's that been said a million time on this thread. Not once have I claimed this to be "professional gambling" Again, its not "system" if purely down to betters desecration, and just a bit of fun.

As i said before, "value" is an expensive word if you can't pick a winner. I'd rather have 3 or 4 winners with my £20 then throw away a 33/1 slip while claiming "at least it was value".

Regarding the last bet, If QPR had won my balance would have been £36 meaning i'd only need another £4 to hit my target. In 4 bets! I don't see whats so impossible!?!?

Its funny how people wait for me to have a lose before they call me out, Would love to see you make some live calls and get involved rather the sit on the sidelines.

Please, just understand the tone of this thread, its light hearted, a bit of fun, having a punt, nothing more. Your only stating the bloody obvious

You get worked up easily don't you? Have your fun, where did I say you can't?

If you started a mathematics thread and insisted you could make 2+2=5 would you have been outraged if someone came and pointed out basic arithmetic?

Regarding your last bet...the problem in that sentence is the word "if". Wanna know how many times I've heard a punter say "if"?

About seven thousand.

Hey! Just saying!

Have fun. Nothing wrong with fun. Just don't confuse it with gambling.

A lot i should think, but being a betting shop manager doesn't make you a bookmaker! You just restock the biro's and pin the racing post to the wall!

If it'd happened, you'd have hit your target. But that overlooks two crucial details: first, it didn't happen; and, second, you've moved the target from a 650% profit to a 100% profit!

Nobody is saying it's impossible to turn £20 into £40 in four bets. Nor are they saying that you can't paint your garage door with your eyes closed; rather, that it's a silly way to go about it. Accepting, of course, that, if you find it fun to bet in a way that increases your chances of losing, your scheme can be fun.

No bookmaker would ever consider betting in the way you do. They recognise that accas are an appaling proposition for the punter, to the extent that the offer bonuses to lure people to take them on.

You bang on and on and on about stats, most of which you cocked up earlier in this thread. Yet you haven't called 1 bet. Grow a pair!!

Then the thread just becomes you listing a load of short odds bets you've made, and keeping a tally of the results. Although not really keeping a tally of the results, becasue, when you lose £20, you start again as if you're at zero, such that, even if you had hit your (massively revised) target of doubling your £20, you'd still be well down.

I called some. They lost. And yet I'm still doing a lot beter than you! Grow a pair of brain cells!

If you want to make a thousand short-priced bets, you want to become an insurer. Of course, you then want to price those bets such that on average you profit rather than lose. Making a thousand bets in which you lose on average would just be silly.

You keep lashing out little boy, and wisely ignore everything people are saying to you here. Fits in well with the average Urban75'er from what I've seen.

But if you want to keep throwing away money, feel free to start a conversation with me. Starting with bank details.

And what? I've won more than nine times that amount this month. Thats net, btw.

And, interestingly, these bets on which you've won are exactly as I suggested - single propositions, rather than the stupid many-multi-legged accas you were clainming were a good idea.

No proof, no live calls, no balls
