Fleetwood Mac co-founder Peter Green dies, aged 73

Just heard this. Brilliant guitarist who influenced so many. Sadly, he had his demons that robbed him of years of playing. Sad day. :(
RIP.

Always philanthropic to younger musicians
The 58 Les Paul he gave Gary Moore was bought by Kirk Hammett of Metallica for $2m.

great musician, poor guy... cast out the band, at war with half his family.

worked with his son once, the kid was washing dishes in a restaurant. I got talking to him, he told me who his dad was... i was obvs amazed and why was this kid washing dishes?
He told me that there was massive legal battles after Pete got ill and half the family got a lot of the cash, Pete and co ended up with very little.

i love those later albums when there was a bit more in the mix than just the blues - funky chunk is a stonker of a tune as well as loser two times, slabo day, gonna see her tonight

Ace guitarist. Riff in 'Green Manalishi' is awesome, as is the one in 'Oh Well.' Then he could do all that delicate 'Albatross' type stuff too. My fave version of Fleetwood Mac. RIP Peter and thanks.

Always had time for this tune though

Green has explained that he wrote the song after experiencing a drug-induced dream in which he was visited by a green dog which barked at him. He understood that the dog represented money. "It scared me because I knew the dog had been dead a long time. It was a stray and I was looking after it. But I was dead and had to fight to get back into my body, which I eventually did. When I woke up, the room was really black and I found myself writing the song."

It really captures it too - one of the spookiest sounding records I know, still amazing even now. He really was a special talent, such a great shame what happened to him when he was in Fleetwood Mac. RIP
