For those who to plan visit Yosemite. This was my second trip to Yosemite, I think some of the best views in Yosemite are in the main valley, such as
- tunnel view
- glacier point
You can get to both these view points either by car or tour bus. Its also possible to get to these points by foot from Yosemite village but check the distance before you head out and in the case of glacier point, there's a lot of climbing. National park website suggest cheating and get the tour bus to glacier point then hike down, which is what I did last time and I took the mist trail back to Yosemite. (there's now a sign at the top of mist trail suggesting the John Muir trail is better choice to return to Yosemite valley)

On the road out to Tuolumne Meadows, there was a brief view along the valley. I was in a bus at the time and couldn't stop, but if you have a car there might be parking place to stop.
Avoid US holidays, I made the mistake of turning up on Labour day weekend. Bad idea, very busy (2/3 hour traffic jam) and even more expensive than normal (staying in the park is expensive)

Do some research on the weather, it can be burning hot during the day and drop to freezing point at night. It was around 30 C when I visted. Weather underground,
Almanac is one source of weather information.
