Farcebork problems

Current situation is that I can't access my Facebook account. Neither the password I have a note of, nor the one saved in password manager, work. Facebook will not allow me a password reset except to the email address I set the account up with a good few years ago, an email address I no longer have access to. Even though my current email address and my mobile phone number have been set for it (so I can't even set up a new Facebook account without setting up a new email account). I should by Monday have all the data from the deceased PC. I was able to get into it simply by hitting the FB bookmark on my old desktop, but that box has now died, although all the data has been "rescued".

Is it likely that just copying the cookies across to the new PC will solve the problem? Is it likely that Chrome saved the password somewhere unusual? Anyone got any other ideas? I've had nothing from raising the problem with Facebook.

I'm no help, but I'm going through something similar. Had two scam alerts, then fb told me to change my password. I can't seem to find my hotmail account that I used to open my account.

FB is being a proper arse for me this evening, so much so I've given up on it. For some reason it works sort of ok on my phone, I'd leave it til tomorrow and hope it sorts itself tbh.

Try signing into your Google account via Chrome on the new PC and then try signing into FB by typing in the email you use for that.
Chrome supposedly saves settings in your Google account so hopefully they'll synch up for you.

Someone said something earlier, that fb had it's head up it's arse today.
Think I'll ignore what I want to check there, and see if I can find the info someplace else.

FB is truly horrible. I understand why people use it, if it's the only way of keeping in touch with certain people.

The mystery is how some otherwise rational people think that it's not that bad. Everything about it is bad.
