Eyelash tinting. Tell me about it please.

Has anyone had this done? I think I'd like to get mine a darker colour so my eyes would stand out more without actually putting make up on.

Will I get this effect with eyelash tinting? Mine are not particularly thick or long - how does it affect the end result?

You might sort of get that result but it doesn't alot of much difference imo. And it REALLY stings.

I used to get mine done because they are very fair at the roots but don't bother anymore.

And it doesn't last long. I reckon it's just easier to use mascara.

What VM said. The darker colour doesn't make much difference without the thickening qualities of mascara. And they grow out quite quickly too.

I've had it done a couple of times, great if your eyelashes don't show up like mine :D

doesn't last that long, but I found it very effective.

great for festivals/holidays though.

I was going to get it done once - me & my friend went. After she had hers done, I couldn't tell any difference so I ended up not bothering.

Waste of money IMO.

I had it done but nobody noticed. Not really worth it I don't think.

You can do it and then just use clear mascara at festies and stuff so you don't get that smacked in the eye look when it smudges after a night's sleep when you've not baby-wiped your face...

I tried it, but it really irritated my eyes, and didn't make my lashes look any less puny. Give me great gloops of water proof mascara any day. :D

i have been dying my own for years. I buy a brown/black kit from Boots for about £6 which has tons of applications in it. Having it done in a salon would probably cost at the cheapest £6.

I have had no problems with stinging and find it easy to do.

You know you can get eyelash extensions now? :D

Are these really common now?

(I mean common in the usual/everyday/frequent sense, not in the vulgar :D sense).

I've noticed a large number of women with unfeasibly long eyelashes.

Re. lash-tinting - I agree with your earlier post. I get it done sometimes but I'm really not convinced it's worth it.

Hmm. Sounds shit :D I don't think I'll bother.

I disagree . The affect afterwards for me is eyelashes that are darker and silkier looking. I have only been to a salon once to have them done but don't see the point as I do a good enought job at home. I'd suggest buying a homekit and see for yourself. I have been doing it for about 14 years and never had a problem with stinging.

I've always found it really good. Sometimes it gets in your eyes and stings like fuck, sometimes it doesn't - just have to take that risk. It's an expense I've dropped in the last 18 months, but I did use to do it every 6-8 weeks.

It's been worth it for me, as my eyelashes are nigh-well invisible without it.
