Cheers
I mean, in a way even that's pretty brazen; "our priorities are about expansion and profit, not local fans we've already got".
Go an read another book you boring cunt,
Fuck me. They're falling over themselves to accommodate the big clubs, and it's still not enough.
You don’t get it do you. The fans don’t like the idea, but they control the club. That’s why the fans control the club.
Are you really this stupid or being deliberately obtuse? The fans control the club. They decide.you dont get do you? the rule makes it impossible for board members and CEOs to do as they please.
The only reason Spurs are there is that it ensures that there are only 14 clubs in epl not involved which makes getting the 75% vote impossible to force the clubs out.Not enough for spurs, who despite being a 'big club' have zero form for winning anything and can't even see the top four on a clear day.

Guardian claims to have found the 'justification document' hidden away in the website code:
Revealed: unpublished Super League document justifying breakaway
The Guardian has uncovered an unpublished European Super League document in the hidden code of its new websitewww.theguardian.com
seems arsenal didn't tell arteta or the players eitherKlopp just spoke on the monday night footy programme. He was guarded and didn't give much away, but reading between the lines (a) he didn't know about it before the announcement, no-one from the club had spoken to him, and (b) not a fan. Spoke honestly about integrity of competition, that it's exciting to have West Ham in the mix for the top 4.
If anything, I think the one thing that Liverpool (the board) have achieved is successfully appoint Jurgen Klopp as Bayern Munich manager in the summer.

“We will try to focus on the game. I heard that there are warm-up shirts [made by Leeds, with ‘EARN IT’ on one side and ‘FOOTBALL IS FOR THE FANS’ on the other]. We will not wear them, we cannot. But if somebody thinks they have to remind us that you have to earn the right to play in the Champions League, that’s a joke, a real joke, and it makes me angry. They have put them in our dressing-room. If it was Leeds’ idea, thank you very much. Nobody has to remind us, maybe they should remind themselves.”
I think you can guess who....
Yet over the coming days and weeks they're going to be grilled about it as though they have had, and prodded, coerced and tempted into condemning or applauding the moveWhy are people expecting managers to know about this SL plan? it aint none of their business. they have no say in board matters.
Just catching up. Anyone else here apart from donkeyboy, think this is a good idea?
Leaving aside the truth - the creation of a cartel, the protection of profit from football, the creation of a product without real meaning, and the chance to offset covid and other losses - their argument is this:
- football spends too much time listening to 'legacy fans'
- football is global and not local
- the ECL and the UEFA Cup (or Europa League) are legacy competition's
- fans wants to watch the best teams play each other, with the best players and the clubs rich enough and powerful enough to make it happen
- this is about the global fan base and supporters of the future. A multi-media platform will allow fans across the world to cheer their team on as they play other teams with a global network of fans and clubs can maximise this revenue via their own media platforms
- in some, unspecified, way the money swilled into the ESL will find its way down the ladder
I think that about covers it.
