Next year, I may. I'm having an all expenses paid trip to Shuttleworth (some god-fest) in three weeks. Woo and Hoo. I have to watch overteenagers as well:(

Why in the name of satan and all his hellish minions are you going to a god-fest? Don't forget your tinfoil shoes otherwise you'll burn on entry.

Ma teaches sunday school, and the sunday school kids (11-18) reckon they will get me to go to the meetings and sermonish sessions.

I Believe I will teach them the meaning of No.
Steward of children's souls :(

What colour tabard do you wear for that?

Your pics are lovely AS - you have good camera skillz :)

I need to collect my USB lead to download my pics but they're mainly of the foal so probably not very interesting  :D

I went to your tent a couple of times, and phoned you on Sunday... It must have been difficult on your own - sorry we didn't spend more time together, but it was lovely when you came over to visit us and I had a lovely little wonder with your son on Friday.

I'm sorry we missed you. I had virtually no battery left which was really thick of me so I had the phone turned off most of the time to save what was left  @ self so didn't pick up your message (was that you?) until the way home.

I am a bit rubbish at initiating contact as you may have noticed

of course they'll be interesting! :)

AS - yes your photos are very good  I love the one of the fabric of Crispy's tights.

Ed - great, looking forward to seeing them.

I didn't bother taking any this time as my snap-happy mate Soph always takes loads of good ones. At Endorse It she took 1625  That's one for every 3 mins she was awake (we worked it out) :D

Sorry, just catching up -- this from page 76

I am amazed that anyone is complaining about the music. I did not go, I went to Boomtown, but the line up looked great to me (although perhaps not as strong as previous years).

if you are only going for the music, you get to see the line up in advance, so if you don't like it don't go!

Personally looking at the bill i would say i knew the majority of the bands and the only one i would not have fancied was sham 69.

there was a similar line up at boomtown (but for cow-punk, read ska-jazz). I loved every minute of it.

There is one minor thing though.... i am of an age where i will remember the Tofu Love frogs from first time around and can remember when Eat Static were still joined at the hip with ozric tentacles. Both festivals do have a slightly retro line up. I am not complaining about that cos it tends to be the better bands that survive, but we could do with a few new names on the scene (having said that, i did catch a few new bands this weekend, most notably Babylon Circus and i suppose the likes of Babyhead and Smerins aint really old guard). I am quite happy to keep going and watching the old stalwarts (not sure my kids are though).

I am really not sure the scene is big enough to support two festivals of such quality the same weekend though ... especially less than 100 miles apart with many bands doing both events

This is a good post. I think that Boomtown's decision to pick the same weekend as the (already established) EiiD for their revamped festival was an ill thought our mistake, insufficiently checked.

Put it back to September Boomtown! (We had thought of going to it if they hadn't altered the date).
