I wish I'd met you - I was in there on my tod most of the time :(

oh no! this is rubbish, and I think aqua mentioned you to me but I was totally rubbish at hooking up with her even...

it's tough with kids isn't it. loads more stuff to lug about and you know there is never going to be a chance to sleep off that hangover so you can't ever fully 'blow out'. I'm going to try and get a more organized family camp together next year so that childcare can be split over 2 nights. One night out proper with the fella (Robser970) would've really topped off the weekend properly. the other night I'd be more than happy to babysit for others in the same position..

How old are foal(s)? where were you playing? I bet we met..?!

Or perhaps just write to the organisers first, explain her condition and ask if there were any well lit areas to camp in - like the vehicle field right next to the arena.

Expecting a tiny festival to invest in lighting for the entire camping area seems a little over the top. It's rather a shame you didn't go yourself as you'd have a better idea of the conditions there.

not the camping area, the arena, read the thread.

I think it rocked, although to be honest I was a fucking idiot to take on as much as I did in the condition I was in and i'm now absolutely fucked: now the booze and chemical insulation has worn off, i'm in a lot of pain and still can't move properly.
You put the rest of us to shame! I was knackered just watching your marathon DJ'ing sessions! Respect.

well i had a lovely time, it was great to spend time with lots of lovely peeps especially Saturday and Sunday night. Just good to have a break from reality for a bit.

Well done to the EIID team, keep on doing what you are doing guys cos we loves it.

To Jefe who i know did crazy hardcore hours and to all those that let me sit and listen.

Looking forward to next year already xxx

Have you written to the organisers yet? Even if you're never going again because it was so "shit," it might prove helpful to others going in the future with similar problems as you.

FYI: I wouldn't recommend Green Fields at Glastonbury for you either - that's even darker at night.

Yeah it's not that easy and I'm on my own and there were times when it was all a Bit Much (and that's not to say that urbs weren't really kind - mango5 made a massive effort to come and find me loads of times and that was lovely) but the foal (who is 2) was a bit discombobulated by the whole experience so was a bit clingier and whinier than normal which didn't help.

We were in the travellers' playbus mainly - next to the cafe thingy. I don't suppose you were the woman with the blue dress and the hat breastfeeding a baby with a boy about 3 were you? She looked nice. :D Actually all the other people there looked really nice but I'm shit at striking up conversations with random people

that only cost me a fiver though, bargain!
It was a bit of a disaster all round really. I managed to knock the bung out of my airbed taking it out of our tent so by the time I actually went to bed there was no air left in it at all, I lost my ear plugs (they were what I was looking for when I woke you upo - sorry  ) and then there was some bint screaming her lungs out at the junction between where the big tent was and where tanky et al were and then the little scrotes having the audacity to have some fun at 7am

No bongos though

overheard at the tent:

bloke one: that dj last night was amazing
bloke two: what one?
bloke one: that one with the crutches...

I see an argument forming here and I don't think it really needs to be one. Flounder reads this thread, tp will or won't write depending on her mood. Let her spout... i quite like the fact that i've not just discovered i'm not the only one to have sight probs at festivals.

Did you go to Ground Elder and Mrs Ground Elder's smashing play 'marquee' thingy?

Tbf, on the subject of endorset offering help to people with disability or injury; we had a friend with an injured foot who arrived on her own on the Sat, and the medical team's response to our requesting assistance for her was pretty damn poor. :(

But then maybe it hasn't just been considered yet, and this sort of feedback will help. :)

Although it's a very small festival, it seems pretty clear that they're keen to keep their punters happy, so I'd say it's important that people give them their feedback and criticism.

We have to be realistic though as it has only a fraction of the resources (and budget) of bigger festivals.

my now 5 year old is the reason this is my first festival back since 2005. she got really freaked as a toddler, she was still a bit in culture shock which is why I spent so much time at this festie in the kids area making it a positive experience for her. I'm not the lady you are thinking of, mine are 2 and 5 and called billy and dallas respectively. I'm 35 and got a curly bob in a home dyed dodgy shade of blonde... i spent a load of time around the playbus too - bloomin' brilliant!

I am so regretful that we are having this conversation now and not before...I'm a bit shit at small talk too - but I find it a bit easier with now the kids are on the scene. they are far more sociable than me :D

An offer to pick up someone in the tractor they were using the day before to ferry people from the entrance surely wouldn't have been too much of a problem. As it was though, when some of us got interviewed for feedback at the festie we mentioned it. Would a PM to flounder also be in order?

I thought it was pretty dark in parts of the arena (mainly near the casino/kids bit) and I have no sight problems.

The toilets weren't as good this year and they were amazing last year.

I really don't want to see Dreadzone again. :D
