Have a good time, hope it stays dry and sunny or at least dry. Thanks for all the offers of lifts from you all but I shan't be going. Can't get a tent, sleeping bag, and a few other reasons for my drop out.

I shan't be reading what a wicked time you had :p

Didn't spot that you needed a tent and sleeping bag. I can lend you these if that would swing you coming. :)

Well why not buy some anyway - they'll get some use at some point, right?

Not til next year & then only if I go to a muddy festival. I'll probably have to move house before then & I'm fed up of lugging around posessions that I never use.

Who else is arriving when the gates open on friday? Shall we do some PMing of mobile numbers so we can coordinate Camp Urban?

Oh go on then. I reckon it'll be fairly hard to miss each other, especially after rich!'s accuracy of description, but you never know. :D

God I love Urban at times. My box if full with offers of tents, sleeping bags and so on :D

Thank you all - but I should have said that someone who I am quite close to me has been taken into intensive care this morning. Don't know what the score is... I wasn't there when my Grandma passed away and I have never forgiven myself for that. So I don't want to do it again. I Shouldn't be thinking the worst - she could well be out of intensive care in a matter of hours or days. Think I need to be around here though.

Don't why she didn't wait until next week before collapsing and stuff.

Thanks all, man... proper makes me happy to know amongst all the shit you have to go through in life there's some utter gems of people out there.

x

As much as I would like to be part of Camp Urban, we are bringing the little Chintzs so we will be in family camping. I will make an effort to wander over and say hello at some point.

I don't think it'll be that raucus and x-rated in camp urban. The family field isn't far away.

Must remember to get ear plugs...

I think there will be raucous and x-rated sections to it, if the attendance list I've seen has got anything to do with it :)

same here, family camp site for us. big blue tent with a cheapo green gazebo thingy stuck on the side if you fancy popping over chintz.

i'm staying well away from the other lot. dirty, cocktail swilling, trouble makers the lot of 'em. :D

I suggest that a bar is a better meeting point than the tents.

If the last few glastonbury's are a guide, you'll find some deserted tents as everyone was either at a stage or by the bar.

How about a Friday eve meet up by the bar on the middle left of that map, assuming that's where its going to be?

Sunray - the idea is to meet by the tent area on friday afternoon while people set up tents, say hello and get themselves together after their respective journeys. We have a few drinks/etc, put a unknown face to a well known name and then after we have polished off all the booze and the bands sounds like they are picking up - we no doubt potter off.

It is nowhere near the scale of Glastonbury so walking up to the tents to see if anyone is there, then going back to the bar will take 5 minutes - if that.

i think you have an odd idea about how big the site is :)

if you're stood near the stage, you'll be stood near the bar :D

Cool. Better to be there than by the tents?

And, lets face it, we're all gonna be at anything remotely PRoD related :D

There will be no escape

eta- after the main stuff has finished and the dancing kicks off ;-)

Mate - if you really hate the idea of meeting up at camp urban whilst arriving and settling in, then go to the bar area and I look forward to meeting you later :)

ETA - the only thing about meeting up at the tents was to have a non-arena purchased alcohol drinky. The idea of cocktails was kicked about and generally approved and it went from there. It's no big deal. I was going to make a load of different drinks and bring them, but if folk are going off the idea I won't bother.
