does anyone know what the situation with dropping off all our camping gear is? can we drive into the family camping field, dump tent etc and then go park up?

thing is i've just buggered my back again (3rd time in just over a week) and i don't fancy either a) having to persuade mrs elvis to hump all the heavy stuff, or b) shafting my back again before the festy even starts.

from Endorse-it web site:

"For everyone's safety we do not allow cars into the campsite or the festival arena." :(

think i'll email Flounder

You'll have to find an obliging hippy to help, and where can you find one of *them* nowadays? :(

They tend to be thpse less obsessed with leylines/Zodiacs momnsense/Glastonbury High Street, you know, the Hippy Obligers are more likely to be more beer tent orientated ;) :p :)

Fuck "workshops", the preferable tent is open!!! :D

Shirl! :( Gutted x 10000 you're not coming. :(

Sounds like it's for the best for your recovery though. Get well soon mate.

Hope to see you soon (me and the Janster will be in Leeds again in Sept so praps could pop to Heb to say hello)?

XxX

Could well be pretty nice!

I think the weather will be alright. Most of the wet stuff seems to be bound for the north half of the country. Reasonable chance of a high pressure ridge nudging the south west.

Yes, looking much more positive now than the forecast did up to about Friday.

uk.weather.com 10 day forecast for Blandford Forum shows NO RAIN

Metcheck 7 dayer for Blandford Forum shows no rain til Sunday evening, and not much then, possibly some more on the Monday at the end though

BBC 5-dayer for Blandfford Forum (goes up to Saturday so far) is also pleasant.

May be a bit breezy at the start, but once the breeze drops, I'd expect temps to rise to around 21C or 22C :)

Usual weather-health warnings apply -- your forecast can go down as well as (hopefully) up -- but at this stage I'll take it and welcome.

Expert ultra-geeks on the forums at http://www.netweather.tv have since Sunday been talking up the same favourable synoptic pattern that Idaho was mentioning. No heatwave, but absence of rain is what we all want.

Checking weather sites so that you don't have to!

By any chance will anyone have a pump with them I could borrow? We've got an airbed but don't think it will blow up very well without it (the nice lady at Glastonbury we got it from inflated it for us) :)

I like to blow up air beds using lung power. The effect of the hyperventilation reminds me of doing 'Rommels' when I was 14 :D

I think Idaho spent days of yore conquering North Africa only to come unstuck due to a lack of supplies from an increasingly beleagured fascist regime :(

He never went short of a cocktail though.

WW2 would have been over in six months if they had bombed the factory which makes those little umbrellas

So would it be foolish to not take wellies?

At the moment, it looks like wellies are not needed. Best to check on thursday though eh?

Those were the days. A good night's sleep on an airbed, a swift tank assault to take Tripoli then Gin Sours overlooking the med from the top of a Panzer.

Heh - I imagine there are numerous names for the delightful process of hyperventilating, taking a drag on a ciggerette, holding your breath and then briefly passing out. In Brighton, for some strange reason, they were called Rommels.

Who else is arriving when the gates open on friday? Shall we do some PMing of mobile numbers so we can coordinate Camp Urban?

Yeah, but seat-of-the-pants generalship - even if brilliant for short periods - is no substitute for thorough preparation and planning. As was ultimately shown. Sorry, what thread is this? :D

Assuming busses and things go according to plan, Stig and I expect to be queueing outside the gates. Look for a pair of bickering drunk dready people. Now check the other 8 pairs of them :D

Have a good time, hope it stays dry and sunny or at least dry. Thanks for all the offers of lifts from you all but I shan't be going. Can't get a tent, sleeping bag, and a few other reasons for my drop out.

I shan't be reading what a wicked time you had :p
