i was looking at one of these:

yeah trangias are the shit for camping. mainly because of the funky kettle no more trying to pour boiling water from a wobbly saucepan into a cup.

spirit ones are the best i think, no canisters needed.

Just make sure you clean the burner regularly. If you don't eventually the little holes will get clogged up, at which point it becomes rather dangerous due to the ensuing pressue buildup.

I once had to deal with the consequences of one exploding inside someones tent and it wasn't pretty...

In JTG's defence I don't think he was being aggresive. Just saying that beyond shelter, a sleeping bag and a change of clothes you don't really need much else. I'm sure you can survive two days with out a duvet, pillow and a proper meal!
