You're not going to be able to park right next to your tent y'know ;)

Someone we camped with last year had one though, and they were good :)

i know. but i don't think the're that much bigger. and in the grand scheme of all the other crap i'll be bringing :)o) it pales into insignificance.

I thought gnocchi bolognaise... (pre cooked bolog, natch)

edit - or fried egg sandwiches

or bacon butties

mmm. foood.

both those stoves are quite wobbly though - for standing on grass and balancing things on top.

i was looking at one of these:

which you can also get for about a tenner (plus a couple of quid for the gas).

I've got one of those. Have had it for a couple of years and it's served me well. They're not too good for making pancakes unless you do them with a fresh full canister ime, but fine for everything else.

... oh, and the case is not sturdy enough to sit on! :D

pancakes??!!
gnochi bolognese??!!

this is a music festival people!
get there, eat a pasty, eat some drugs. maybe get some chips down on sunday, then the next full meal is monday night. ffs :)

you're soooo sensible...

festy food is over priced and often too rich. i'm not gonna take tooo much food - just some things that makes life slightly cheaper.

Exactly... some tea, coffee, noodles... not very heavy and save you a few pennies :)

Pancakes are a peice of piss though, and you can make and eat several in the time it takes you to wander off, find some, queue, buy (ONE) and eat it. (and the bought ones generally don't come with Green & Blacks chocolate spread :D)

So surely that leaves more time for drugs and cider? :p

I like Trangia stoves. You can get gas ones or spirit ones. Windproof, rain proof, stable and very efficient. You also get a load of pots and things to cool with. They're £40 but will last you a life time and the parts have been the same for the past 60 years or so. So you'll be able to buy parts for a long time yet.
yeah trangias are the shit for camping. mainly because of the funky kettle :D no more trying to pour boiling water from a wobbly saucepan into a cup.

spirit ones are the best i think, no canisters needed.

I''ve used on of these before - they are cool. Probably a good investment...depends on my want to go camping too many times again...

Well, I need a light stove - not too heavy - water/ food making... I do like the little camp stove...

I think your stove'll be fine, just out it between two bricks if it wobbles. Those flat ones that look really sturdy spangles posted can be a nightmare to get canisters for IME.

I thought boohoo's was a trangia at first. They're great but I don't like the smell! :(

I've got a mage old bluet Gaz stove that fits in it's own tin with spare gaz, it's survived the last 20 years I dare say it'll survive the next! :D

this is the point I was trying to make really.

it's a weekend long party in a field, not the fucking ideal home show

no really, I'm not interested in stuff, material possessions or unnecessary crap.

Chill out mate, what's wrong with taking a gas stove and a few bits of food so you can save some money?

And if you can be arsed to carry an air bed, then why not? They're comfier than rollmats!

all I want is a little stove to save some money on coffee or food -is that such a sin?

(reminds self not to let JTG have nice cuppa tea...;))

so zenie making daft assumptions about me and me expressing a point of view means I need to chill out then?

yeah ok
