hehe... yes, but then a few different people do that (means you can take your mug back to your tent ;)).

A Friend worked in one of those posh tapas bars by the sea and you could take out on a proper plate with proper cutlery your tapas for a small deposit. No one ever brought them back as they were branded with the name of the tapas bar. I have one myself that I use for throwing my change in! It's like if you get a nice glass in a pub you have to half inch it... or at least I do.

Same with beer festies... deposit for you glass, keep it if you want a souvenir, give it back if you want the cash back :)

Ok - milly molly is no longer coming so we're going to hire a car. Monkeygrinder has made the genius suggestion that if another couple wanted to split the rental with us, that'd be ace. We'd rent a decent sized family car with a proper boot for not much more than a small car - and halves on that would be a good deal all round if anyone else was thinking of doing the same.

Anyone?

Hire a transit then you can throw a mattress in the back and sleep on that.

Just a thought.

I'm waiting to hear about stig's volcano kettle!!

I tested it at off the tracks this weekend, and here is the verdict:

Being able to go off wooding in the morning, and pretend you're all healthy and living on site etc: 10/10

providing the campsite entertainment while everyone gathers round going 'ooh what's that then' 10/10

quick boiling, 8/10

not being able to work out how to lift it up and pour water into the cups because there's a load of fucking fire underneath and as soon as you lift it the fire will fall out, 0/10

having moose warm up your food in the campervan for you because your volcano kettle is basically made of fail, 0/10

So, there you have it. :D

(with hindsight, we could have just picked the kettle up and whacked the balti dish straight on the fire bowl, which would have solved both problems... )

I'd just like to say that I have a spare campervan pass, since I'm no longer going to be taking avan... if anyone wants it like :)

And we got our little camping stove for £12 as well, and they were selling off they inflatable matresses for like £18 as well, dunno if thats cheap or not. Just gotta get la tent and a mattress and its go go go.

any chance we could hire a people carrier or something and me and cheg join in the coupley drivey fun? understand if this doesn't float your boat but thought i'd put it out there... the thought of getting the train is filling me with dread already! :) :)

hmmm... I might speak to the boy and see how much train fares are compared to cars, for a possible share?

Well we're both drivers (although I haven't driven for about 3 years :D)... so I'll see what he says tonight. He does like early starts though  :(

both those stoves are quite wobbly though - for standing on grass and balancing things on top.

i was looking at one of these:

which you can also get for about a tenner (plus a couple of quid for the gas).
