I appreciate how important Leatherface are but I don't like them. AOS3 OTH....... Purely belta!

so should i buy a matressy thing then?? If everyone else is having them, i dont like sleeping on the ground where all the bugs are.

a mmattress probably wont much protect you from bugs (that's what your groundsheet does) - but i couldn't sleep without one. the ground is bloody hard, you know?

Madamv had a tesco tent at Glastonbury that broke when her husband was putting it up. He had to sleep in our porch on the wednesday and she brought another one down the next day.

They might have improved since then though. :hmm:

As spangles said, won't make a difference for bugs but you will have a much better nights sleep. Madamv prefers fold up camp beds but I think she's a nutter. :)

Make sure you have a practice run before you go anywhere in it. If you put it up in the garden/park then you should be able to spot any potential problems.

We took ours to the rec because it didn't fit in the garden. :)

If it looks shit, bust it then take it back to tesco. ;)

Almost any tent will keep you warm and dry, you just have to learn to put them up properly - know how to use guy ropes for starters.

No doubt I'll end up doing my usual "will help put up your tent for beer" service :D

A roll mat is a must, to keep the cold ground off you, and to smooth out the bumps.

I've got a wicked camp bed, not one with tiny poles or anything. It does take up a bit more room in the car though, and it's a single obv. !! :D

i'm buying a massive tent on ebay

don't buy anything too massive, I've got a 6 berth I slept in on my own once, it was freezing!! :(

right so defo gonna get a matress thingy, then i shall instruct the cabbage to blow it up unless i get one of those super flash ones that blows itself up. i dont like being too hot or enclosed so i think a single sleeping bag is no good.

How do you cope with the cold though?! :(

I don't really get cold, I'm always the last person to put on a coat/jumper. Most people will be moaning it's freezing with 5 layers of fleece on, and I'll still be wandering round in a tshirt :D

Failing that, I have an aqua shaped hot water bottle ;)

Bloodu hell! Has taken me an hour and a half to read all 50 pages of this! Now I have got myself all excited.

I went and checked the new flyer out and see AOS3 are playing which has made me so fucking happy. They're the only good thing to come out of Sunderland. AOS3 WOOHOO!!! Anarchy, peace, yin and yang, om

I heard AOS3 play back in the early 90s in Half Moon pub at Herne Hill. I did have their album (vinyl) and I gave it to Bluestreak...
They are very good...

Oh yeah, is the food really bad at Endorset? I can remember reading last years thread that the food was a bit crap and there was a few comments on this thread about it too.

You don't need them. You're in a field not halfway up Mont Blanc.

You can often get away without them on "outer first" tents, where gravity pulls the inner away from the (tensioned by the poles) flysheet, but a lot of the "inner first" designs rely on guys to pull the outer skin away from the inner...

If it's windy most tents need at least a couple of points secured to keep their shape.

There are toasties ;) (or there should be)

Brought quite a bit of my own food last time I went.
